Open Access Publishing Opportunities

Thanks to agreements with these publishers, UConn Health authors are entitled to receive discounts on article processing charges (APCs). To take advantage of these opportunities, please use your @uchc.edu or @uconn.edu email address when submitting your work to the publishers.

The UConn Library has additional discounts available to UConn-affiliated authors. These discounts require the use of your @uconn.edu email address when submitting your work.

American Physiological Society

Corresponding authors can publish in any of the 10 research journals without paying APC fees. These journals use a single flat publication fee. Full details are available from the American Physiological Society.

  • Systematic Reviews
  • Perspectives
  • Viewpoints
  • Editorial Foci
  • Editorials
  • Letters
  • Any content published in Physiological Reviews, Physiology, and Advances in Physiology Education

American Society for Microbiology

UConn Health authors are now able to publish open access without article processing charges (APCs) in the following journals published by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM):

Cold Spring Harbor Press

UConn Health authors are now able to publish (for free) in the following open access journals published by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press:

This opportunity is available from January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2027.

There are a limited number of free article publications. Once the limit is met, normal publication fees will apply with a 10% discount. Check with the individual journals to determine if free article publications remain. If your article is accepted for publication, you will then be informed of your Open Access publishing options.
