Library Lost and Found Policy
The UConn Health Sciences Library is not liable for the security of any items brought into the Library. If the owner of a lost and found item satisfactorily proves ownership, the item(s) will be returned.
Items that will be discarded
- Perishable items, including food and drink
Items that will be held at the Information Desk for one (1) week
- Unclaimed books or miscellaneous papers
- Unclaimed clothing, including jackets, scarves, and gloves
What happens after one (1) week?
If an item is not claimed within one (1) week and after library staff have made a reasonable attempt to contact the owner, the item will either be discarded, made available for other patrons to take from a cart of free items, or added to the library collection.
Items that will be turned into the Lost and Found Office
Phones, wallets, laptops, passports, driver's licenses, keys, and unclaimed money will be held at the Information Desk until library closing and then turned into the Lost and Found Office.
UConn Health Main Campus Lost and Found
- Managed by the Office of Patient Experience Guest Services Staff
- If you lost an item: Email lostandfound@uchc.edu or leave a voicemail at 860-679-4836. You will only receive a call back if your item is found.
- If lost items are found, return them to one of the Guest Services desks in the Connecticut Tower Lobby or University Tower Lobby during open hours.
