Printing Policy

Printing Policy

Printing in the library is available at no charge to UConn Health students, staff, and faculty with a valid UCHC email address (username@uchc.edu). Printing is not available to external users.

Authorized users may print from any public desktop computer in the library. Students may also print from UConn Health-issued laptops. Personal laptops are not supported.

Printer Options

During regular library hours, the Self-Service Center's black-and-white printer and color printer are available from the public desktop computers in the library. Students using UConn Health-issued laptops may also print during regular library hours, but only to the black-and-white printer.

Acceptable Use

Library printing is intended for academic, clinical, and research purposes, such as assignments, articles, and course materials. Print jobs may not exceed 30 pages. Printing entire books, large projects, or other high-volume materials is not permitted.

Responsible Use

Library printing is monitored to ensure equitable access for all authorized users. Users who exceed the page limit or print outside the scope of acceptable use will receive a warning. A second violation will result in the suspension of library printing privileges.

Copyright and Fair Use

Users are responsible for ensuring that any material they print complies with U.S. Copyright Law (Title 17 of the United States Code) . If you have questions regarding copyright or fair use, please contact the Scholarly Communications Librarian, Jillian Silverberg.
