Study Space Reservation Policy

Who can use the study spaces? UConn Health students, residents, and fellows who make a reservation. Please note: We will need to cancel reservations that do not meet this eligibility criteria.

When can I reserve a space? You can reserve a space for use during regular library hours.

How long can I reserve a space? Reservations are for 2 hours. You have 15 minutes after your reservation starts to arrive before it is canceled. Please leave the space by the end of your reservation or five minutes before the library closes if you book the last appointment of the day.

Can I book multiple sessions? Reservations are limited to one session per day. Back-to-back, overlapping, or recurring bookings are not allowed.

How can I cancel a reservation? You can cancel your appointment with the link at the bottom of your Booking Confirmation email. In rare cases, we may need to cancel your booking if the space is needed.

Cancellation policy: You have 15 minutes after your reservation starts to arrive before it is canceled.


Appropriate Use of Study Spaces

The Carson Room is available for activities such as:

  • Research
  • Studying
  • Group projects
  • Interview preparation

You may not use the Carson Room for:

  • Class instruction
  • Office hours
  • Association or club meetings
  • Social gatherings
  • Faculty meetings
  • Conferences

The Study Cubicles are available for activities such as:

  • Research
  • Quiet study

You may not use the Study Cubicles for:

  • Meetings
  • Conferences

If you wish to use the study spaces for a purpose not listed above, please contact the Library Director, Susan Fowler (sfowler@uchc.edu).


The person who reserves a study space is responsible for ensuring:

  • The space is left clean and free of personal belongings.
  • Everyone in the space complies with the library’s disruptive behavior policy.
  • Any costs associated with lost or damaged equipment (e.g., TV remote, HDMI cable), furniture, etc., are covered.

Food and Beverages

Food and beverages are allowed in the central area of the Carson Room, but not the alcove. Food and beverages are allowed in the Study Cubicles.
